Take a piece of printer paper and draw a face on it: this is what I did with this page spread. And to tell you the truth, this is a fun way to add texture and more thickness to the paper when the journal you’re working on has thin paper that’s not really suitable for water.
I had the left side of the spread already done with some reddish abstract background and I used a bit of solid craft glue to fix the face in the journal. And after adding color around the face, it looked like she was in the journal in the first place. I haven’t collaged pieces of paper in a journal in a long time, and this art journal I’m working on it really requires adding some extra thickness to it as the paper is really thin.
I found this face in a folder where I keep all my randomly made sketches that I might later use or… not. They can turn out to be reallt interesting and fun to use, so why not give it a try? 💜
