In the times of crisis, art is a the bond that keeps us balanced and present. While you cannot go outside too much, you can definitely create new art pages. Depending on how much time you have in this imposed quarantine, you can even create more art than usually. I have grabbed my small B6 art journal and created a new collage spread, this time using a paper to cover the whole spread with collage.
I don’t usually write messages in my art journals, but I should integrate that in ny daily practice. Adding words and messages is like speaking with a future self that will see the pages at a later date, probably with different eyes and meaning.
Because this art journal has thin pages of only 80 gsm(~54lb), any collage will help build the page thickness so you can use more water if ever needed. I plan on adding more collage in this journal and play around to see different results. I prepared a stash with faces from magazines that would also go well as collaged pages in this B6 art journal.
I thought this time would be nice to try to tweak the face proportions and create something obviously exaggerated, but […]
I found this face in a folder where I keep all my randomly made sketches that I might later use or… not. They can turn out to be reallt interesting and fun to use, so why not give it a try? 💜
