Japanese Quince and Baby’s Breath Spinea
Almost April? Already? I can’t believe how fast March went by! And because I love my Japanese wall calendar, for this page I got inspired from the March calendar illustration, some beautiful blooming red Japanese Quince flowers. Aproape aprilie? Deja? I had to work really fast to finish this page, as time became very precious lately. This is one of the reasons why I’ve chose to use…

Fuchsia in Bloom
With about 110 recognized species, Fuchsia flower looks like a ballerina with many legs. It’s gracious and delicate, hanging upside down with its gorgeous coloring. This flower does not serve as wonderful painting and drawing inspiration, but it’s also a bliss for the eyes. So why not draw and paint it in my art journal? The Lotus Flower
Drawing with colored pencils is just so much fun! I was inspired by a photo found on Pinterest for this lotus, and again I’ve used Prismaclor pencils to complete this drawing. Only that this time I haven’t blend the color with oil, leaving the drawing as it is. I don’t have photos in stages with this flower, as it was a fast drawing and I completed in no time. Desenatul in creioane colorate e atat de distractiv!

Colorful abstract flowers
This is yet just another way of having fun in your art journal while not worrying at all about the result. These rather abstract flowers can be easily called flower buds as the are still close and don’t reveal the shape of the flower. In fact, they look more like leaves than flowers, the only thing that suggest they are flowers is the color I’ve used to color each one of them. And speaking of color, my choice was Caran D’Ache Neocolors 2 for this page and I drew the flowers directly using Neocolors without sketching first. At the end, there are some final touches made using a white Prismacolor…

Skeleton Flowers
This flower is called Diphylleia Grayi and it’s better known as the skeleton flower. These flowers are normally white, but they turn transparent if rain hit their petals. Pretty amazing, isn’t it? So I thought it would be nice to paint them in my art journal. Uimitor, nu-i asa? To get started with this page I needed a dark background, so I painted the…
