What I’ve been doing + New Art Projects

It was great to #painting again. I even created a short #video while doing it, and I’m pretty sure you’re gonna love #watching it. The page in the right: #Derwent #inktensepencils with a bit of white #gesso. The result? Fast and furious #art #journalling #whimsical #face. Want more? Check out the next #artvideo! #drawing #face #artjournal #artjournaling #CristinaParus #creativemag A short video showing you inside my junk journal. Few really beautiful faces and very different styles, and there are more to come! I love the sound of the paper when I open the journal! ***Sorry for the turned image, I had no option to turn the video image as it…

The junk journal project – leaflet painting over

YOU have to silence your mind in order to listen to your intuition.   As I told you before, I love the freedom a junk journal offers: you don’t have to worry about ruining the paper or the journal, because this is a . . .junk journal! The junk journal project was born just because I had so many left over papers, cardboards, leaflets, envelopes and other paper support I wanted to gather together into a so called junk journal. It is called junk journal simply because it is made from stuff you would rather throw away, but in art journaling everything goes. So I started to love this journal.…

The junk journal project – diving intuition mixed media portrait

*****The junk journal is a dear project of mine I’ve wrote about here. Some people are afraid to draw faces. I can see that and perfectly understand it because as weird at this may seem, I am myself ‘afraid’ that if I try abstract/intuitive paintings will not come as beautiful as I want them to be. But that doesn’t meant I won’t try, because I have already planned this for May this year. For example, Daisy Yellow never paints portraits. Her art journal pages are a mix of color splashed together with no particular intend: using bright and vivid colors she creates a fairy tale atmosphere. Maybe I can relate…

    Happy New Year 2016!

It’s been a wonderful year, and another one even more wonderful lies ahead. I’m more than happy and grateful for an amazing 2015, and can’t wait for the beautiful 2016 to start! It’s going to be a very special year for us! They say Christmas is for family and New Year’s Eve is for gathering friends together. Have fun partying with your dear ones! I’ll leave you with a page I did this month in my junk journal: paint on whatever surface you find suitable! A fost un an minunat si unul si mai minunat ne bate la usa. Sunt mai mult decat fericita si recunoascatoare pentru anul 2015, si…

  • Mixed media Pretty face by Cristina Parus @ creativemag.ro

    Pretty girl

So after having my junk journal base done, I’m now going to fill it in with all kind of embellishments and alter the journal. Remember, this journal will be in an ever changing state because I can add, stick, remove pages, paint, draw, etc.  My preferred way to alter this is by painting over the pages or just drawing where the paper doesn’t allow for paint to go. As the journal cover is thicker than the rest of the pages, I thought would be nice to paint directly on the cardboard that straighten the front cover. And what else to paint other than a face? 😉  You already saw the…
