Blue hair and scribbled collage

Because this art journal has thin pages of only 80 gsm(~54lb), any collage will help build the page thickness so you can use more water if ever needed. I plan on adding more collage in this journal and play around to see different results. I prepared a stash with faces from magazines that would also go well as collaged pages in this B6 art journal.

Textured flowers by Cristina Parus @

Adding flowers and texture

After drawing and painting this face over here, I’ve realized that the other page of the spread was looking incomplete and needed an urgent change. Although the previous page was looking pretty good, wait to see how the spread came together … I wasn’t a fan of the spread so I decided to add some flowers to complete the whole spread. The page has some bright pink background and a few circles on the bottom of it, so it wasn’t so pleasant visually. The idea …

The Quoted pages – Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature

Today I stumbled upon a card illustrating blooming poppies. I said to myself that those would make a fine collage in my journal. I cut a few blooming poppies and a few poppy bods to match them together, and glue them down on the page, leaving some space for lettering. I misaligned the word “blossoming” and went with it on the other page. But even so, I like this page, and I like the message: Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature – Gerard De …

The Quoted pages – She smelled of SUN and daisies with a hint of river water

Today I went back to faces. I took advantage of the extra time I had when my baby was asleep, and painted this face. I’m still using “fast” art supplies – those that can be used anywhere, anytime, and are fast-drying, since I don’t have time to wait for the paint to dry before I move to the next step. Because I painted the face leaving almost no space for lettering, I had no place left for the quote. This brought me to writing in …

Mixed Media Poppies by Cristina Parus @

Mixed Media Poppies

It wasn’t my intention to paint poppies when I started this page, but then I figured out they look like poppies so I decided to leave them just be. Instead of coloring them all red, I preferred to use tones of mulberry, magenta, violet, lilac and violet blue. Nu am intentionat sa pictez maci cand am inceput pagina asta, dar apoi mi s-a parut ca arata a maci asa ca am decis sa-i pastrez si sa nu-i modific. In loc sa-i colorez pe toti in …
