The Quoted Pages Art Project

Just like The 29 Faces Challenge and The Flower Art Project, I want to start a new 30-days art project called “The Quoted Pages”. And as the name suggests, those art journal pages are going to include an inspirational quote each day of the month. The quotes I chose to use are personal development, self esteem, happiness, creativity and some lettering might even be thoughts that come by and are *suitable* to go on a journal page.

For this project you don’t need a journal with thick paper, you can use any copybook or notebook you have around, as it will contain mainly words, but I would go for at least a very affordable notebooke – such the Derwent sketchbook, with the 165grm/110lbs paper or even better use a Derwent classic book acid free paper, with hard covers, 165grm/110lbs – as I will not only write, but also draw, paint, add collage and water, and most probably I will mix those together if I feel like doing so. You can go with whatever feels comfortable for you and “hide” some pages from uninvited eyes by simply not publishing them online.

Derwentnt brand remains one of my favorite journal brands out there, because of its affordability for the paper quality. It’s ideal for beginners to try their hand before reaching more expensive alternatives.

To get started, make a list of your favorite quotes and keep it close so you can pick one every day. Or you can search for a new quote each day as you fill up the pages.

Here is my first quoted page. This face is an old one in my Canson Art Book One A5 art journal.

I applied some changes on the page and of course, I added the quote reading “It is your attitude, not your aptitude, that determines your altitude.” – Zig Ziglar. Can you imagine that I painted this face two years ago and only today I added some text to the page?
