Acrylic painting – girl with turquoise eyes
After finishing filming the non-dominant hand class, I was left with some extra acrylic paints out of the tube, so I thought it would be nice to quickly draw a new face and paint it with the colors I had on the table.
I’m sorry I didn’t filmed this one, it went out very well! But at least I took some photos of the creative process.
Here it started with this drawing…
And then I added the first layer of acrylic paint. Remember, this journal is not suitable for water, but I made it work somehow and I really like it. It’s probably precisely because I was freely creating as an experiment without great expectations, which is something I highly recommend you to do, too! Just take a pencil and draw a face, then have fun painting it!
Lastly, I added another layer of acrylic paint and she looks so cute. I like this loose style, when the paint lies freely on the paper.
Another acrylic layer and she already looks really good. You can now go over with a watercolor pencil and emphasize the features of the face if you like.
This part is my favorite, and most of the times I don’t activate the color with water because I simply love the effect it creates on the page 🎨. But this time I haven’t used any watercolor pencil, leaving the painting as it is, without anything else added to it.
What have you been working on lately?
Hugs,
Cristina
