Old drawings – new pages
Although most of the time I start from scratch with a new page, sometimes I find myself “browsing” old journals that never come completed. And that’s fine because we all need “art diversity” and that’s what all these journals bring to the table. They are all different with all kinds of paper types and grains. I have a bunch to choose from, and that’s so much fun. This art journal was made out of a book I bought precisely for this purpose: to transform it into an art journal. I remember how I altered this red-golden iridescence tissue cover using liquid paper glue, which worked well at giving the cover…

Painting old pages – Working with Posca markers
I'm working in my journal-book on a page I started long time ago and never knew what exactly I would like to paint on it. But what other better subject than a face?! You know me, I love faces! They are so captivating and you cannot create two alike!

Soft pastels portrait on packaging paper art journal
Remember my brown packaging paper art journal? It’s time to draw again and fill in the pages! It’s been a while since I haven’t used my soft pastels, and today I grab them and drew this face: Va mai amintiti de jurnalul din hartie de imapchetat? E timpul sa desenez iar ceva in el! A trecut ceva timp de cand nu am mai desenat cu pastelurile cretate, iar astazi a sosit timpul sa desenez o noua fata: I was inspired by an old photo with vintage colors and since I only have a set of brown soft pastels, it was just perfect to try this face. I’m working again in the wrapped paper journal and I’m taking advantage of the brown paper to paint portraits. It helps a lot with shading and skin tones are faster resembled when the background is of this beige, tan color.

Watercolor Woman Portrait on wrapping paper
One of these days, when the sun seemed to warm the earth even more beautiful than he does in the spring, I went for a walk in the park. I took with me my art journal made from wrapping paper that I wrote about in here. I said to myself to take advantage of this wonderful day and draw directly in nature. But I didn’t drew leaves and other natural Autumnal wonders, but a portrait that I may say it came out pretty good. Intr-una din zilele trecute, cand soarele incalzea pamantul parca mai frumos decat primavara, am iesit la o plimbare in parc. Am luat cu mine si jurnalul meu facut…
