The Quoted pages – Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature
Today I stumbled upon a card illustrating blooming poppies. I said to myself that those would make a fine collage in my journal. I cut a few blooming poppies and a few poppy bods to match them together, and glue them down on the page, leaving some space for lettering. I misaligned the word “blossoming” and went with it on the other page. But even so, I like this page, and I like the message: Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature – Gerard De Nerval I also added some watercolor to ‘bond’ the elements and this page is ready. In the end, I splashed the page with a brush…

The Quoted pages – She smelled of SUN and daisies with a hint of river water
Today I went back to faces. I took advantage of the extra time I had when my baby was asleep, and painted this face. I’m still using “fast” art supplies – those that can be used anywhere, anytime, and are fast-drying, since I don’t have time to wait for the paint to dry before I move to the next step. Because I painted the face leaving almost no space for lettering, I had no place left for the quote. This brought me to writing in her hair. And I love how this turned out! I used Inktense Pencils and Koh-i-noor watercolor pencils, and a white POSCA marker to highlight her…

The Quoted Pages Art Project
Just like The 29 Faces Challenge and The Flower Art Project, I want to start a new 30-days art project called “The Quoted Pages”. And as the name suggests, those art journal pages are going to include an inspirational quote each day of the month. The quotes I chose to use are personal development, self esteem, happiness, creativity and some lettering might even be thoughts that come by and are *suitable* to go on a journal page. For this project you don’t need a journal with thick paper, you can use any copybook or notebook you have around, as it will contain mainly words, but I would go for at…

It’s been more than a year!
Hello dear creative soul! It’s been more than a year since I last posted here! It’s been sooo long! I have somehow (like completely!) neglected posting on the blog, but all this time I continued to create art in my journals, especially in one journal in particular – the one that allowed me to sketch real quick and only use mostly dry medium. I miss a lot painting with acrylics and getting my fingers dirty in the process, but then packing all back after painting was too much time consuming, and I preferred using colored pencils and sometimes “dry” brush to activate the colors. This blog is going…

Japanese Quince and Baby’s Breath Spinea
Almost April? Already? I can’t believe how fast March went by! And because I love my Japanese wall calendar, for this page I got inspired from the March calendar illustration, some beautiful blooming red Japanese Quince flowers. Aproape aprilie? Deja? I had to work really fast to finish this page, as time became very precious lately. This is one of the reasons why I’ve chose to use…
