The Quoted pages – She smelled of SUN and daisies with a hint of river water
Today I went back to faces. I took advantage of the extra time I had when my baby was asleep, and painted this face. I’m still using “fast” art supplies – those that can be used anywhere, anytime, and are fast-drying, since I don’t have time to wait for the paint to dry before I move to the next step.
Because I painted the face leaving almost no space for lettering, I had no place left for the quote. This brought me to writing in her hair. And I love how this turned out!
I used Inktense Pencils and Koh-i-noor watercolor pencils, and a white POSCA marker to highlight her eyes. And a water brush to activate the colors, leaving parts of it untouched to create a slightly smudged effect.
Here it is a close up. She turned out Beautiful! I chose to use this text thinking of Spring that’s just around the corner. Since today is the first day of Spring, but not so much snowing outside where there are -20 degrees Celsius, this jourrnal page is a reminder that the sun is out there and Spring is not that far!
What’s painted in your art jourrnal?
See you soon,
Cristina
